Salary: HC12 (£49,422 – £55,016)

Herefordshire Council is looking for an outstanding individual who is committed to providing a first class service to our workforce and the adults we support.

As Principal Social Worker, you will be influential strategically and in practice. You will support the development and delivery of high-quality practice across the directorate and wider partnerships. You will work in partnership with Social Care managers to quality assurance operational practice whilst actively engaging with the adults we support and the workforce.

We are looking for someone to provide strategic leadership and expert advice on adult social care issues. You will work with practitioners, managers, the Service Director for Social Care Delivery and the Corporate Director (DASS) to ensure practice is robust, strengths based and focused on outcomes.

You will have excellent social care frontline practice skills; sound management experience and the ability to analyse complex information and use this to support improvement in practice.

The Principal Social Worker role is well regarded in Herefordshire as a champion for adult social care and its workforce. You will be a skilled communicator who can lead, collaborate, influence, and challenge with excellent verbal and written skills. Alongside your skills and experience, you will have substantial knowledge of the legislation and statutory responsibilities that underpin adult social care.
